Volunteer Placement Programs »
VACI currently offers opportunities for international volunteers in the areas of VOLUNTEER WORK PLACEMENT and EDUCATION & RESEARCH. Volunteers are at liberty to combine programs from these two areas. Find the details of our program costs here.
VOLUNTEER WORK PLACEMENT
Besides allowing VACI participants to work on our existing project ideas or on projects of their own proposal, VACI also places participants in already existing volunteer positions through our partnerships with local schools, hospitals, libraries, and NGOs. This is a good volunteer option for those participants who do not have enough time and energy to commit to one of the VACI proposed long-term projects.
Participants don’t need to have earlier work experience or education in a specific field but if noted, previous knowledge or interest will be used as a means of placement. This will widen the positive experience of Ghana for the volunteer and it will also give the working places a more motivated volunteer. Currently, VACI offers work placement in the following areas:
Education
Participants can teach in the various schools in Denu, Tokor, Aflao, Akatsi, Dzodze, and Abor. Participants can teach in Nursery (Children between 1-5 years), Primary (Children with the ages 6-15) and Secondary school (Children with ages 16-19 years). Subjects that the participants can teach include mathematics, English, and computer science (soft and hardware), technical skills, social science, accounting, business, sports and physical education, management, biology, chemistry, physics and other subjects. Participants can also work at the library in Denu, Aflao, Tokor, Akatsi, Abor, depending on preference. Here, Participants spend most of their time helping children to learn how to read or teaching them poems and riddles.

VACI-GHANA SPONSOR A CHILD PROGRAM
VACI-Ghana hopes to help underprivileged children by financing their education and other needs. This is impossible without adequate funding; thus, we have introduced the Vaci-Ghana "Sponsor a Child" Program.
In Ghana, a lot of children are deprived and do not have the chance to go to school. A lot of families have many children and can't afford to feed, clothe, and put them all in school. This affects a lot of Ghanaian children. Most often, boys are favored leaving girls to performing household chores, working as child slaves, etc.
VACI-Ghana has since started locating some of these children from the surrounding communities (mostly at Denu and nearby settlements) who need financial support for school fees, books, school uniforms and other personal effects. VACI-Ghana currently has in its records, more than 30 pupils and students that could use some financial help for education.
VACI-Ghana is calling out to philanthropists, individuals, well wishers and organizations to collaborate with the VACI-Ghana sponsor a child program to help in supporting these kids to ensure that they can go to school or into some vocation to learn to help develop themselves and Ghana in the future.
Please Note: Sponsors will get detailed reports and personal contact with the children or families they sponsor. If you are interested in supporting the VACI-Ghana sponsor a child program, Contact us:
